It’s well into December and the season of giving has begun. Stores and churches across America have started their clothes drives,  food drives, and bake sales to help those without this year. And  although the season looks slightly different here in Mexico, the spirt of giving is still very much the same.In the past few weeks Simple Love has participated in several projects across town.

Handing Out food at the Hospital:  there is often a crowd of people waiting for appointments outside the local hospitals. Because of the fear that they will miss their “spot in line” for their appointment they wait all day to hear their name called, not even leaving for lunch.  It has become a regular service project to hand out tacos and coffee and offer to pray for those people outside.

Orphanage Visits:
This month we spent several Saturdays hanging out with the kids at the orphanage. Whether it was by making “American Sugar Cookies “ ( who know it would be such a new experience for them) or by having a bonfire and roasting marshmallows , we are excited to see our relationships with the kids growing with every visit.

This Month with Simple Love
Angel Tree:
What:   This Christmas Season we are giving the Orphans an opportunity to give rather than receive. Our goal is to reach 50 kids whose families were greatly affected by Hurricane Alex, and bless them by helping to give them Christmas presents.

Cookies for Haiti : These next two Sundays  Simple Love will be selling cookies at church to raise money for the Haiti Relief Project.

Coat/Winter Clothes Drive: Simple love is also collecting blankets,  winter goats, gloves, hats, etc.. in the community to send to those living along the river who were most affected by Hurricane Alex this summer.

How can I Help?
We’re glad you asked.  Below are different ways you can help Simple Love change Mexico!
For The Hospital :  We would love to buy a used coffee maker to have for when we go to the hospital. As of now, we heat the water and use instant coffee, but would be able to provide more coffee for longer with something to brew the coffee.

For the Orphange:   In order to allow kids from the orphanage to  pick a child from the river to bless, we need to raise the money to buy the gifts. There are 23 children in the orphanage,  and we have set a limit of  100 -150 pesos ( $10-15 dollars) for each gift.

If you would like to donate and help Simple Love continue to reach people in our community please contact Danielle Hanson or Hannah Newby via Facebook . Thank you for your continued Prayer and Support  :)
